Thus, most famous names in contemporary art are brought together in a collection to which a new work is added each year. Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, owner of Mouton, has given commission for 2006 vintage to British painter Lucian Freud, born in 1922, a universally acknowledged master of contemporary portraiture. In 2008, one of his works was sold for highest price ever attained by a living artiSaint For Mouton 2006 Lucian Freud has chosen a joyously exotic transposition of pleasure of drinking, in which vinestock is transformed into a springing palm tree and winelover into a happily anticipatory zebra. Although drinkable since I first tasted it over a decade ago, it exhibits no signs of fruit loss or color deterioration.
