Havens Reserve Merlot 2002 Wine
USD 31.97
Blend: 90% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon With a full two years bottle aging before release, 2002 Merlot Carneros is already developed into a stylish wine: dark plummy fruit, subtle notes of baking spices and anise, and a broad-but-firm backbone. This wine shows off 2002's forward, juicy flesh, but will develop complexity over many years. If you appreciate great wines of Bordeaux's Right Bank but love explosion of Napa Valley fruit, you will find this Carneros Reserve bottling just that magical combination. Leonetti Merlot 2010 Wine
USD 78.99
Dense, dark, and lush but with amazing focus and levity. Loaded with dark blue and black fruits. Gorgeous high tone aromatics are reminiscent of brambleberry reduction compote. Long and plush on palate, but with a fine grained tannin structure and brilliant acidity from epic 2010 vintage. This may be finest Merlot in Leonetti's history. I am completely enamored by complexity of this wine. cool vintage gives such restraint to opulence of fruit. This wine will drink well upon release but age for many years to come. USD 47.97
Our Merlot is a blend of Estate Merlot and Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon ranges from 12 to 18 percent depending on vintage. grapes for this wine are picked in very small amounts as each area of vineyard reaches its peak of ripeness. grapes are then de-stemmed and individual berries cracked open by our 20-year-old Healdsburg stemmer/crusher (with crusher rollers removed) and fermented in small open top fermenters or small stainless steel tanks. After fermentation pomace is gently pressed in an old fashioned basket press and each pick is put into a stainless steel tank to settle off gross lees. wine then goes into our new or used French oak barrels for 19 months of barrel aging. resulting wine is a big, world-class red wine capable of improving with bottle aging for 10 to 15 years in most vintages. Although wine varies with vintage, they have a consistent thread of complex aromas of black berry fruits, black stone fruits, chocolate, tobacco, spice and fl Con
