how bad is disneyland in june?
im going ot disneyland in june wednesday thru friday is it really packed in the middle of the week in the summer?
It's pretty crowded once schools get out for the summer, so depending what part of June, it may be pretty packed.
The good news is that you're going mid-week so that will take some of the edge off. Also the weather in OC hasn't cranked up too hot by then, usually.
Even if it's totally jam-packed you'll have a great time. Here's a few tips:
Get in the park as soon as it opens and go on a couple of popular rides before the lines get long. Try to hit ones close together. My favorite opening round is to get a Fast Pass for Indiana Jones, then head to Splash Mountain and wait in line, then Haunted Mansion and Pirates. By then your Fast Pass for Indy will be ready. Another good group is to FastPass Space Mountain, then go straight to Submarines, Buzz Lightyear and/or Star Tours, then Matterhorn. Then go back and do Space Mountain. You get the idea.
DON'T try to ride the monorail into the park first thing in the morning. You will have to wait for several trains and waste the best short-line time standing on the platform in Downtown Disney. Just walk into the park on Main Street the old-fashioned way. Walking between DL and Downtown Disney is always faster than the monorail when the park is even slightly crowded.
Eat breakfast before you get into the park so you don't spend time waiting for food while the lines are still short in the morning. Alternatively, bring food in a backpack that you can eat in line. There is no decent coffee anywhere inside the park, so if that's important to you, get it early somewhere else (hotel, etc).
In general, eat during off-peak hours. Lunch at 10:30 or 2:00 (or both!) Dinner at 4:30 or 8:00. That way, while others are jamming the restaurants, you can take advantage of the shorter lines for rides.
Spend some time in the hottest most crowded part of the day doing stuff that doesn't involve rides. Shop on main street or get your face painted or just grab a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream bar and watch the world go by.
Use Fast Passes! (research how they work before you get there so you don't waste valuable park time on it).
Decide which parades and shows you want to see and stake out good spots for those. Anytime there is a parade or show you aren't planning to see, take advantage of the shorter lines while people are cramming in for the parade.
Relax and enjoy! Even in a gnarly crowd, Disneyland is a ton of fun!!!
